A trans woman booked a glamour session and told me, very quietly, that she’d never once liked a photo of herself. Not a single one in her whole life. She wasn’t asking for a miracle, she said, she just wanted to try. By the end of the session she was scrolling back through the frames with her hand over her mouth, and the thing she kept saying was that she looked like herself, finally, on the outside the way she felt on the inside.
That moment is why I do this work. Glamour portraiture for trans women and transfeminine people is about far more than looking pretty, though you will. Glamour usually wants controlled, flattering light, and I run a studio in east London called Lemon Shark Studio where I can build exactly the light that suits you. It’s private, which matters for a session this personal.
If you’d prefer a softer, natural setting, the prettier corners around Hackney can give a romantic outdoor feel. Some women want the polish of a studio, others the warmth of natural light, and either can be gorgeous.

What you do with the photos
What happens to the images afterwards is entirely yours to decide. Some women want them purely for themselves, a private affirmation to look at when they need reminding of something true. Some use one as a new profile picture, finally happy to be seen. Some print a favourite and put it on the wall, claiming the space.
Because the work can be personal, I handle delivery carefully and keep nothing beyond what we’ve agreed, so you’re never wondering where your photos have ended up. The answer is only ever where you chose to put them.
If you do want to share any publicly, perhaps to mark a milestone in your transition on your own terms, that’s your call and we agree it explicitly. The default is privacy, and anything beyond that happens only because you decided it.
