1. Who we are
queer.photo ("we", "us", "the agency") is a representation and booking agency that represents queer and LGBTQ+ photographers in London and connects them with clients. We are not a photography studio and we do not take photographs ourselves.
2. The photographers are independent freelancers
Every photographer we represent is a self-employed, independent freelancer. They are not employees or workers of queer.photo. We act as their representation and booking agency, which means we may promote them and arrange work on their behalf, but no employment, partnership, or joint-venture relationship is created, and the photographers remain independent contractors at all times.
Photographers set their own rates, choose which work to accept, use their own equipment, control how and when they carry out a shoot, and are responsible for their own taxes, National Insurance, insurance, licensing, and legal obligations. We do not supervise, direct, or control the creative or professional work they deliver.
3. What queer.photo does
We represent photographers and bring them work in exchange for a fee. That means we promote them, take enquiries and bookings, help match a client to a suitable photographer, and may collect payment on a photographer's behalf. For this representation and booking service we charge a fee or commission, which may be taken from the booking value or charged separately.
The photography services themselves are provided by the photographer, not by queer.photo. Any contract for the actual shoot is between you and the photographer, arranged by us on their behalf.
4. Bookings, enquiries and payment
You can book a standard package and pay through the platform, or send an enquiry for something custom. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details. Prices shown are guide rates and may change before a booking is confirmed. We aim to confirm and match a photographer within 24 hours but cannot guarantee the availability of any specific photographer.
5. Cancellations and refunds
Cancellation and refund terms for a shoot are agreed with the photographer. Where we have collected payment, we will handle refunds in line with those terms. Our facilitation fee may be non-refundable once a match has been made. Contact us as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel a booking.
6. Responsibilities and liability
Because the photographers are independent freelancers, queer.photo is not liable for the quality, delivery, conduct, or outcome of any shoot, nor for any acts or omissions of a photographer or client. Our responsibility is limited to providing the representation and booking service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
7. Getting represented as a photographer
If we represent you, you confirm you are an independent freelancer entitled to work in the UK, that your portfolio is your own or properly licensed, and that you will deliver work you are booked for professionally. You can ask to leave the roster and end your representation at any time.
